In this video tutorial, you'll learn how to create a $30 steadicam for your Apple iPhone 4. The rig consists of a three-axis gimbal with a weight at the bottom.

You'll require the following materials:

A 2" PVC outer ring.

A 1" PVC coupling ring.

A 3/4" PVC pipe.

A skateboard bearing.

Aluminum bar for handle (optional).

Instructions:

Drill a 1/4" hole in each side of the 3/4" PVC pipe. Make sure not to drill into the bearing. Drill 1/4" holes in each side of the PVC copuling. Also 5/16" holes. Drill 5/16" holes in each side of the 2" PVC pipe. Drill a third hole for optional handle. Thread in 1/4" bolts. Add 5/16" bolts through the PVC pipe into the coupling, add a handle. Voilà, a cheap, three-axis gimbal.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
