An Album Just Launched into Space—Listen to It Based on Your GPS Location

John Frusciante, of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame, has just launched a new album, literally. His latest work, Enclosure, was loaded up on Sat-JF14 satellite inside the payload bay of the Interorbital Neptune Rocket on March 29th and launched into orbit.

Beginning today, March 31st, you can preview his album when the satellite orbits over your physical location. Grab the free app from the iOS App Store or Google Play to get started.

Once downloaded, open the app and sign in via email or Facebook.

Pretty self explanatory, but a very cool idea. "When Sat-JF14 hovers over a users' geographic region, ENCLOSURE will be unlocked, allowing users to listen to the album for free on any iOS or Android mobile device."

The satellite wasn't over my location yet, so I was a bit out of luck, but give the app a shot and let us know what you think. The preview will last until midnight on April 7th, at which point the satellite will cease transmission, leading to the full album release on April 8th.
