How to Pick a Ringtone

Do you want to pick that perfect ringtone that captures who you are but don't know where to start? Here are some tips.

Look through the ringtones that come with your phone. If none of them are good enough, then it's time to start buying.

Brainstorm some songs before you open your ringtone browser. If you leave the ringtone browser open while you think, you will probably be charged a data transfer fee.

Think about what songs you like. Make a list if necessary, but try to hold it to 10 or 15 songs. Then go through and evaluate them. If they have an inappropriate subject matter or have expletives in the chorus (which is probably the part you'll end up buying), then that song might not be the best choice. If your phone were to ring in front of, say, your significant other's parents, would you want them think of you as someone in one of those songs? Probably not. So re-evaluate buying "My Humps" or whatever song you were thinking of buying.

Open your phone's ringtone browser.

Search for the song you want.

Make sure you're buying the right version by previewing it.

Buy your ringtone!

Tips

  • Remember it doesn't have to be a song!

Warnings

  • Be absolutely sure that you're buying the correct ringtone as they are relatively expensive for what they are.
