How to Create Your Own Geofilters on Snapchat

Snapchat's Geofilters add a little flair to Snapchat, giving you the option to dress up your Snaps based on where you took them. They're so popular, in fact, that we even showed you how to pull Geofilters from locations outside of where you are.

Now, Snapchat is letting businesses and users make their own custom Geofilters to use at events like birthday parties, weddings, or underground, bare-knuckle boxing matches.

We should probably scratch that last one, as your custom Geofilter has to be submitted and approved by Snapchat. You'll set the borders of where you want you Geofilter to appear on a map using a "geofence." Then, you'll set the duration of your Geofilter, anywhere from 1 hour to 30 days.

Pricing starts at $5 and goes up from there depending on the size of the Geofilter's reach and your desired time frame. You can head here to get started. You can use your preferred image editing software to create your design, but Snapchat also has a few templates that work in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
