Spring is finally here (in earnest now), and a new batch of great augmented reality Snapchat lenses have come along with it. New life has been breathed into meme culture with the spring lineup of TV shows, Mark Zuckerberg's ongoing investigation, and college kids with too much time on their hands.
If you've never added user-created lenses to Snapchat before, it's as easy as scanning a Snapcode or tapping a link to do so. Just in case you prefer one over the other, both will be provided in this April 20 crop of lenses, so don't worry if you prefer a certain method. If you like what you see, send these lenses to all your friends so you can all have a good time with them.
Technically, everything here is a lens that was created in Snapchat's Lens Studio. However, a few of these feel more like regular filters, but that doesn't make them better or worse — they're all still "lenses."
- Previous Week: Stranger Things, Pokémon & More Snapchat Lenses
1. Zucc
Mark Zuckerberg testified in front of Congress last week and solidified himself as a living meme in the process. The internet seems torn on whether he's a lizard or an alien, but there appears to be a middle ground: The Zucc. Now you can become The Zucc with this lens by Chase Engelmann — without the awful scandals and US government interrogations. Warning: this is probably the creepiest lens I've ever come across.
2. PUBG Helmet
A few weeks ago, I dropped a Fortnite lens, so it's only fair to do the same for PUBG, the other "battle royale" game on the block. I won't comment on which one is better, but they're both super popular games, and this lens by Liam Collod is a fantastic way to show your love for the game.

3. Not Hot Dog
With the latest season of Silicon Valley underway, it was the perfect time to make this filtery lens by Andrew Mendez. It's born from the scene in Silicon Valley where Jian-Yang's app (SeeFood) is able to determine if a food is or is not a hot dog. The lens doesn't actually have the tech baked inside it. You just tap on the screen, and it'll alternate between showing "Hot Dog" and "Not Hot Dog." Still, I'm really excited about this.
4. Volcano
Veering away from the memes, I'm going to dip into my new favorite AR-flexing lens by mrtolien: Volcano. This lens simulates a volcano. While the volcano and soot that rise out of it are cool, my favorite part is the embers that populate the rest of your screen. It's truly amazing what some people are able to build inside Snapchat.
5. Mouth Eyes
This lens replaces all eyes with mouths. While the whole "mouth eyes" thing has been around for a while, I haven't been able to find a lens to do it on Snapchat. This one does it to great effect, and I'm really impressed with the quality of tracking here. Just point it at a face and watch it work wonders.

That's the best of the crop from the last week. Plenty of good lenses to try out for the weekend. Make sure to check back next Friday to see more of the hottest-trending lenses made by Snapchat users. And you can view last week's winners if need more lenses in your arsenal.
