What if the Dark Knight used Apple's state-of-the-art Maps application for turn-by-turn driving directions? Well, let's just say you wouldn't want to be in a shopping mall when Batman is in a hurry.

Apple Maps Parodies Get the Big-Screen Treatment; Batman, Katniss, and Jack Get Lost

Movieclips posted some hilarious parodies of film characters using Apple's new Maps app for directions. Just see what happens when Batman tries to use his iPhone 5 to navigate Gotham on his way to save Rachel in The Dark Knight.

Even if Maps did help him save the day, chances are he'd probably opt for a phone with kevlar skin rather than an anodized aluminum body. What superhero likes to see scratches on their gadgets?

And see what happens when Jack uses Apple Maps to navigate the maze during a blizzard in The Shining.

And then there's Katniss, who runs into some trouble with the Apple Maps App when trying to find her way to the Cornucopia during The Hunger Games.

I'm sure that even Tim Cook will find these funny, considering he's already admitted temporary defeat with Apple Maps in a letter apologizing for the disheveled Maps.

If you don't want to end up like Batman, Katniss or Jack, you might want to try adding Google Maps to your home screen, or try out one of the alternative Maps apps.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
