If you rely on WhatsApp as your messaging go-to, you're probably all too familiar with the default background in chats. While its distinctive look definitely sets it apart from other messaging apps, you're free to swap it out for something more appealing.
To do so, open WhatsApp and head to the app's settings. If you're on an Android, hit the three-dot menu icon and select "Settings." If you're using an iPhone, simply tap on the "Settings" icon on the main screen. Either way, choose "Chats," then hit either "Wallpaper" (Android) or "Chat Wallpaper (iPhone).
From there, you're free to choose from various images and solid background colors. You can even use a photo from your phone's gallery. If you're on Android, you can also install the WhatsApp Wallpaper app to give you even more options. Whatever image you pick, you'll finally be rid of that old default background!
