Your iPhone can do just about anything. It can even be a television remote. And a DVD player remote. Also, a CD player remote. You name it, it can be a remote for it. But it can't do it by itself, you need to use FLPR. It's a nice little piece of software that turns your iPhone into a universal remote. But it can be pricey. So what's the deal with FLPR? Best Buy has answers. The Best Buy Mobile team explains how simple it is to transform your Apple iPhone into a universal remote with FLPR.

Mark: "Hi, I'm Mark from Best Buy Mobile in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You ever find yourself looking around that living room for lost remote control? Maybe it's stuck in a seat cushion somewhere? Well, if you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, I've got a solution for you. It's called FLPR. It makes your iPhone an universal remote control. You simply plug it in, hit the icon on your iPhone and you're ready to go. Now the first step is to program a source unit, like a TV or something like that. So we are going to do that by simply hitting add. Now as you can see you can choose from TV, DVD, CD players, even cable boxes. It does everything. Well choose TV. From there you choose your brand and then you can actually rename it, so bedroom TV, living room, so and so forth. You can customize it even further by changing the background color. You've got channel control, you've got volume control, you've got power control. Everything is ready for you here. So if you find yourself over at your friends house, he's watching something you don't like. Just take out your iPhone or your iPod Touch and you're good to go."

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
