Hiding apps that you don't want or don't use is a no-brainer, but with Apple's mobile iOS, they try to make it virtually impossible without a jailbreak. Now, with a few downloads and clicks, you can finally get rid of that pesky Newsstand or Stocks app without jailbreaking!

Actually, there are a few ways you can hide unremovable stock apps on your iPhone. You can download StifleStand on your computer, plug in your device, and just hit a button, though it will only get rid of Newsstand.

If you want to get rid of a bunch of stock Apple apps, PassHack will do the trick. PassHack uses your stock Passbook app to hide any of the other stock applications. All you need to do is open up Safari on your device and go to www.cydiahacks.com/passhack. Don't let the Cydia address fool you—you do not need to jailbreak.

From there, click Add to Passbook. Once it's downloaded, open up Passbook and you will see the app.

Click on the (i)nfo button in the bottom-right corner to bring up the options menu. From there, you will be given a list of links for all of the applications you can hide on your iPhone.

Click on whichever app you wish to delete and you will be taken to the home screen. It will say "Unable to Download Application" message. Click on Done and then proceed to the app you selected to remove. Tap and hold it and you will see that lovely X show up on the app.

Click the X and smile as the stock app disappears.

If you reboot your device, the icons will reappear. So you may need to repeat the process as necessary.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
