The pending union between Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle is almost guaranteed to set the internet ablaze as millions tune in to experience the spectacle and pageantry of such a momentous event. If you've cut the cord and are wondering where you can stream the royal wedding for free, we've got you covered.
The royal nuptials are set to take place on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. London time (7 a.m. EDT). The event will be covered by nearly every major American broadcast and cable news network, giving us a huge selection of viewing options. Thankfully, this wide variety carries over into streaming, as many of these networks also have digital platforms that require no subscriptions to view content.
Option 1: ABC News
ABC News, along with Good Morning America (GMA) is set to broadcast the royal wedding live on location in Windsor, England from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. EDT. The special coverage will be hosted by GMA co-anchor Robin Roberts and World News Tonight Anchor David Muir. The coverage can be viewed either within the ABC News App or on Good Morning America's site.
Option 2: CBS All Acess
CBS will begin their live coverage at 4 a.m. EDT, but to stream the event, you'll have to sign up for a CBS All Access free one-week trial. From there, simply cancel your account before the trial period is up to avoid the $5.99 or $9.99 charge.
Option 3: CNN
CNN will stream the royal wedding starting 5:00 a.m. EDT with continual coverage, which can be viewed directly on their site or through their free mobile app.
Option 4: E! News
If you want to stream the royal wedding with flair, E! will be covering the royal wedding starting 5:00 a.m. EDT with all the pageantry of a red carpet event. Coverage will be hosted by Giuliana Rancic along with a panel of fashion experts. The event can be viewed directly from the E! News website.
Option 5: NBC (Today Show)
NBC will be covering the royal wedding live starting at 4:30 a.m. EDT, and will be hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kobt. The event will be broadcasted from an exclusive location overlooking Windsor Castle, and can be streamed directly from Today's website.
Other Options
Obviously, the networks listed above are just the tip of the iceberg. If nothing else, you could almost just download any major network's streaming app and there would be a good chance they'd be showing the royal wedding. Another option is to grab the app for one of your local stations, as most will let you watch their news coverage live for free.
Streaming cable services offer free trials, so that's another route. You could grab YouTube TV (iOS, Android), Sling TV (iOS, Android), DirecTV Now (iOS, Android), or PlayStation Vue (iOS, Android) and sign up for a free trial, then watch the wedding and promptly unsubscribe before spending a dime.
